REPAIRS

Propeller shaft - rear

Remove

1. Position vehicle on lift.
2. Disconnect battery earth lead.
3. Remove exhaust system.

 

 + 

 MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST SYSTEM 

- V8, REPAIRS, Exhaust system & 
mountings.
 

 + 

 MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST SYSTEM 

- Td6, REPAIR, Exhaust system and 
mountings.

4. Petrol models only: Remove 5 nuts securing 

LH heat shield. Remove heat shield.

5. Remove 8 nuts securing centre heat shield and 

remove shield.

6. Remove 8 hexagonal headed screws securing 

fuel tank heat shield and remove shield.

7. Raise vehicle to allow propeller shaft to rotate.

8. Reference mark rear propeller shaft for 

reassembly.

9. Remove 6 nuts securing propeller shaft to 

differential flange.

10. Release joint from differential flange and 

support the shaft.

CAUTION: To avoid damage to gaiter or 
joint, do not allow shaft to hang on joint.
